Text, grass
5.5 x 17.4 m (18 x 47 ft)
2017
Untitled (When the cup...) is an ephemeral intervention about how we observe and navigate our environment(s). It is a text-based work that operates between the intimacy of words and the vastness of natural spaces.
A recent report in The Guardian says that by the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than all fish combined. The fragment “When the cup is heavier than the whale,” [當杯子比鯨魚重的時候,] came from the absurdity of trying to imagine what that would look like — visually as well as in terms of its ecological repercussions.
